2006 trend & forecasting reports
Catwalk Beach & Accessories trends Spring Summer 2007  CATWALK  Beach & Accessories Milan, Paris, New York & London S/S 2007  published 20 December 2006 - 93 pages 8605 - 8697
An important part of any spring/summer shows is the swimwear area, even more this season with decorative bodies crossing over into day and eveningwear. Delicious dresses, kaftans, pretty smocks, bomber jackets and tunic tops double up as BEACH cover or daywear. Key DETAILS really make their mark and designers have really pulled out all the stops with fabulous FOOTWEAR this season. In BAGS there are some amazing styles and I'm particularly taken with all the snazzy shoppers and cotton styles for next summer.
Don’t miss this details-packed issue.

BEACH
Bikinis and swimsuits double up into bodies, cleverly making the transition from beachwear into daywear or even eveningwear...
DETAIL MIX
Belts, buckles, bangles, beads, hats, rings; in short everything that stylists and designers work into a collection to give it an edge...
FOOTWEAR
Platforms and wedges are still on trend and these have been given a futuristic twist with cut-through wedges or circular platforms...
BAGS
Designers have really gone to town with details: spiked studs, huge gems, pearls, brooches, tassels, chains and plaited or fringed straps...

Who's Next in Paris spring summer 2007 collections

TRADESHOW Who's Next collections S/S 2007 published 19 October 2006 - 15 pages 8436-8450
The main focus at Who's Next this season is femininity with full, gathered silhouettes in pretty prints and softened fabrics. Embellishment is strong in certain collections, where it forms part of the brand's signature. Otherwise trims are pared down to soft frills and delicate ruffles. Summer cashmere and printed silk are no longer considered luxury fabrics, but are popping up in several casual collections. Knits and jerseys are still fine and featherweight and styled into layered tops and tunics. Dresses are key and swimwear collections are showing bright prints or slippery, glossy fabrics.
