A/W 2010/11 Orientalist Original Design Sketches
published
15 June 2009 - 11
pages 11830-11840
Get inspired by our latest crop of original CAD sketches, covering all areas of womenswear including accessories. The designs are fuelled by our ORIENTALIST theme, which blends Middle Eastern culture and art with traditional styles from India and the Far East. The styles are updated with bold prints and contemporary twists.
Shoulderlines send a strong message and details are in an Oriental mood. There is a clash of geometric construction against the softness of draping. Jewellery dominates the accessories and is highly decorative in elaborate styles. Great inspiration for your A/W 2010/11 collections.

STREET
Trends London
published
03 June 2009 - 24
pages 11769-11792
London's street scene came to life at the weekend, shoppers took to the stores to enjoy the warm weather and show off their latest summer styles.
Hottest trends are jersey denim leggings, peg pants, tulip skirts, belted jersey dresses and jumpsuits. Jackets are light-colour tailored styles, sequin covered boleros or neatly styled and cut in Ponte Roma fabric. Jersey layering is key and burnout oversized T-shirts are the hottest items.
Londoners are busy mixing up print trends especially animal with ditsy prints or combining ethnic pieces with florals or denim styles. Bags are showy in metallic sequins or subtle in worn vintage designs. Most popular jewellery items are short, single-charm necklaces or bold collar pieces. Summer sandals are based around the popular Roman styles but are updated in metallics with chevron-shaped straps.
It's never been more important to keep a finger on the pulse of street fashion; it's an essential part of gauging the mood and needs of consumers – don’t miss this report!

RETAIL
trend analysis Milan published
25 January 2009 - 29
pages 11322-11350
We’ve analysed the latest Resort, Spring/Summer and Cruise Collections to hit the stores early in Milan. There are exciting developments in shape, structure, fabrics and prints to give you inspiration for the summer ahead.
skirts&trousers - Fuller, softer skirts take over from the structured styles that have been popular through the autumn/winter season. Latest trouser shapes are cropped around the ankle, and have a tapered, slim fit.
dresses - Latest buzz words for spring/summer dresses are asymmetric, batwing and printed. The most popular shapes are shirt-styled sacks, printed strappy sundresses, peasant-style tunics and skinny jersey dresses.
jackets&coats - Tailored jackets are single breasted with a one or two button fastening, while boxy-styles have a '50s-style silhouette.
Cape-like effects continue into coats where wider, kimono-style sleeves are prevalent. Dress coats and trench styles are great for mid-season.
tops&blouses - The new resort collections feature soft draped tops with cowl necklines in sleeveless shell shapes.
Shirt styles throw the emphasis onto the sleeve area which features clever details or bold fullness.
