London & Milan Jewellery trend analysis published
31 October 2011 - 23
pages 14800-14822
Statement necklaces, which fill the collar area, dominate the jewellery scene in Milan and London. These short styles can be made up of twisted clusters of beads or chunky single chains with oversized pendants.
These magnified sizes are also trending for rings, which are chunky and feature cutout lettering or are set with large spherical stones. Leather cuffs with hardware or buckle style fastenings also make a bold statement. Smaller strappy bracelets and bangles are worn in groups, mixing colour and textures.
Silver and gold look great together and mixing metallic colours is a definite jewellery trend moving forward.

Milan Footwear trend analysis published
28 October 2011 - 33
pages 14767-14799
We've got some great styles from Milan including revised heritage looks with intricately crafted details, aggressive styles with chunky chains and studs, boyish designs with quirky details and wild fusions of colour and texture.
The lines become increasingly blurred between sandals, shoes and boots as styles fuse together with amazing results.
Retro styles are reworked and see designers curve out the heel into a severe comma shape, magnify the detailing or splice the styles into two or three colour/fabric/texture combinations.
Heels have been enjoying the spotlight for a few seasons and now soles are vying for attention. Designers are embedding chains into platforms, exaggerating the tread into weird angles or simply using a platform sole as a contrast in colour, shine, texture or pattern to the main body.

Paris A/W 2011/12 trend analysis
published
01 April 2011 - 52
pages 14013-14064
Paris has the ultimate impact on catwalk trends. We’ve analysed and edited thousands of photographs into 4 main themes. The fusion trend continues to explore collages of textures and hybrids, but here the combinations are disordered and contrasts are extreme. The palette emerging from Paris is dark and serious, even prints and patterns
revolve around black. Gold is a key player, acting as a highlight, decoration or detail and also as a single garment or all-over coating. There is a sexy, tightly controlled silhouette that leans towards retro and an expanded silhouette, which adds loose volume. Get a clear and detailed insight into next season’s
trends here.
MEGA FUSION - a heady collage of textures and sharp contrasts forms into a single hybrid, or combines in grungy layers...
FRENCH KINK - a tightly controlled silhouette with a sensual undercurrent strikes a balance between proper and
provocative...
EXPANDED SHAPE - perfectly balanced designs with reduced details in solid blocks of colour...
DARK FORCES - a dark, gothic spirit is at work adding suspense and a slightly tough undercurrent to the latest surface designs...

pages 13443-13465
Welcome to the
1st menswear edition of TRENDZOOM! The forecast features comprehensive trends illustrated with moodboard visuals, and includes full colour direction for the spring/summer 2012 season.
The panoptic theme, which runs through all four trends, is one of ‘contrast’. Other contrasts merge natural, organic patterns with multi-cultural prints or highlight the contrasts between retro graphics and contemporary design.
ICONOGRAPHY
- channelling festival/rock legends of the ‘60s and ‘70s graphics.
PERFECT DECAY - perfection contrasts against decay and aged
treatments.

SPECIAL
Menswear STREET & RETAIL resort trends 2010 published
16 August 2010 - 32
pages 13337-13368
The menswear was so good in St Tropez that we had to share it in this special report. We've combined street and retail photos to get an overview of the most directional summer trends and the hottest accessories.
As you'd expect, casualwear is the biggest area of the market with baggy cargo shorts, roughed-up jeans, preppy layers and check-pattern shirts dominating the field. Bold sports/surf styles bring in the colour, while exciting t-shirt graphics add pattern, humour and lots of style to plain t-shirts. Super-fine knitwear, burnout jersey and sheer ribs are key fabrics.
Smart shirts and tailored jackets are styled-down with jeans and casual trousers. Details are subtle; shirts feature seams to add shape or western-style yoke and pocket details.

Resort 2011 Swimwear trends
published
31 July 2010 -10
pages 13260-13269
The minimal trend takes swimwear into an exciting new direction; swimsuits are cut asymmetrically and filled with sensual, organic drape. Lanvin explores the concept within the confines of a one-piece, adding gathers and twists, which could just as easily work in tankini or bikini shapes. The one-piece has the advantage of seamless transition from beach to bar with the addition of a skirt or pair of trousers. Soft separates team with bikinis: soft jackets, shorts, playsuits and loose shirts, while further cover is provided by sweeping kaftans, little kiminis, wrap dresses or oversize t-shirts. Powdery neutrals are enlivened with pops of chartreuse, while strong berry juices: blackcurrant, blueberry, cranberry and cloudberry are hot favourites.

miss!
Fashion's current passion for minimalism is illustrated in the latest swimwear shapes. Styles are sleek with plunging, sharp v-shaped necklines and are stripped of decoration; relying instead on shape and fabric quality. Skin-revealing cutouts are key and introduce swimsuits in asymmetric shapes or with one-piece fronts and bikini backs. The lining is important, sometimes to provide a reversible feature and other times to flash a contrast

S/S 2010 trend analysis Milan & Barcelona published
12 February 2010 - 36
pages 12674-12709
Exciting new trends emerge from Milan and Barcelona where the latest spring/summer collections have just hit the stores. We’ve outlined the key themes and noted the subtle changes that will propel fashion forward. Fabric and fabric manipulation are important features throughout all the trends and designers have used pleating, folding and drape to great effect. Prints are alive with colour and are influenced by animal and tribal patterns. Florals are reworked and updated and it becomes apparent that styles can have just as much impact loaded with decoration as styles that are totally devoid of it. Proportion, length and styling have a fresh, new approach and colour works effectively adding vibrancy and vitality or alternatively fades to neutral when emphasising contemporary tailoring.
BAUHAUS - stark contemporary separates, block colours and razor-sharp
tailoring...
TWO TRIBES - naive prints, animal camouflage, special effects and mixed
colourways...
3-DIMENSION - sculpted silhouettes, tactile fabrics, inflated gathers and origami
folds...
SCRAPBOOK - jean shapes, graphic t-shirts, multi-layering and mix-texture
fabrics...
FUNNY GIRL - ultra-feminine styles, quirky party dresses and intricate
decoration...

S/S 2011 Jewellery forecast
published
12 January 2010 - 19
pages 12546-12564
To emphasise the importance of jewellery
we’ve dedicated a whole issue of downloadable original designs to this exciting area of fashion!
For S/S 2011 statement pieces will not only reference ethnic cultures and antique heritage but also mirror the major clothing trends. A perfect example is the trend for cutout shapes within clothing; this is reflected in cage-like geometric metal cuffs, rings with irregular shaped holes and chevron-pattern hoop earrings. The liberal use of studs in leather goods areas will also influence an increase in tiny stud decorations for spherical pendants or faceted metal additions.
An inspiring issue filled with sketches to download and customise!
ANTIQUE HERITAGE
- romance inspired by the film Grey Gardens
MODERNITY - polished steel and geometric cage-like structures
MYSTICAL - highly embellished, ethnically diverse styles
KITSCH - fun glittery lips and spinning flowers
HARDWARE - pretty arrows and daggers inspired by tattoos
