summary of show-stealing fabrics at Tissu Premier!

The popularity of processed and treated denim shows no signs of abating! These and other cotton fabrics managed to steal the show at Tissu Premier. Best in the denim area were: MILAG - France who has great shimmer-coated stretch denim, INTEXA - France showed a cut-through indigo denim with red threads visible and an acid-splattered denim, POLO
S.R.L. DIV.TESSUTI, NOVA TOP - France and EUROSI - Italy who showed some great faded denim with beige flocking in an irregular pattern which made the denim look aged and dirtied. MAILLES A DEUX - France has a denim fabric printed with a stained/singed effect.
Best corduroy effects: INTEXA - France has some fab tie-dye-look printed corduroy, TEXOTOP - France has shimmer corduroy,
SAIC- VELCOREX - France even has a shot version. Stars of the show were STAR - Italy who showed bold
Japanese-style printing onto corduroy and MIROGLIO - Italy who has gorgeous swirly corduroy in off-white, with a black/taupe overprint. |

Some of the best prints on show were Oriental inspired: CHARLES GUYON - France, SEGALINI SPA - Italy showed an over-printed floral jacquard, DREWS TEXTILWERK GMBH - Germany has a pretty feather prints, REYNARD REXO SOIERIES - France has those amazing prints that resemble classical etchings and trompe-l'oeil denim prints from BALAY SA - France. LIBERTY - Great Britain also showed some great classic floral designs. Stripes are a continuing trend: Pinstriped suiting looked 'the business' but favorites were DEVEAUX SA - France, cotton stripes and COCCI STEFANO SRL - Italy for cotton
club-stripes.Best of the printed fake-furs were from: TISSAVEL SA - France who has a long-haired fur in waves of colour from burnt umber through to mink and FURPILE MODA SPA - Italy who showed brightly patterned furs.Delicate all-over lace from: J. BRACQ SA - France who showed scallop-edged lace in dirtied colours and an open mesh with stripes of sequins, MICHELE LEMAIRE - France has netting with rows of stitched ruffled net and interesting stretch lace borders by BRUNET INTERNATIONAL - France,Other fabrics worth mentioning: a patchwork effect jacquard bengaline by PIERRE ROCLE - France and glazed suitings from SEIDRA TEXTILWERK GES M.B.A. - Austria. MANIFATTURA TESSILE TOSCANA - Italy has tweed with a patchwork decorated with x-stitch,
J.B. BERNARD SA - France showed Oriental jacquards as did DUTEL CRÉATIONS - France and one in particular in shades of
greyed-teal/greyed-peach that looked
wonderful.
